- [Instructor] These days, you can find boot camps for analytics engineering online, but most people transition to this role from adjacent jobs, specifically in the data field. Analytics engineers collaborate closely with other data roles, particularly data scientists and data analysts, which is why they will often have that background. Often, you'll find analysts who are interested in being closer to the data gravitate towards this, or data engineers who are interested in being closer to the business side. Because of the newness of this role, it's not usually expected to have held an analytics, sometimes called business intelligence engineer, or even data engineer, title to apply for this.
