- [Instructor] When I set out to design this course, I was clear not to make this a theoretical course, but one that prepares you for the complex realities of the agentic AI era: the one that lays down the real cost, benefits, and trade-offs that come with building in this space, and that means working through tough questions: questions that may not have straightforward answers, but must still be asked. To avoid regulating in hindsight, we need real-time oversight, but is that even possible when autonomous agents can act and adapt in milliseconds? If an agentic AI system has the ability to modify its objectives on the fly, how do we even begin to define intent? For that matter, whose intent should ultimately matter, developer, deployer, or machine? And if these systems cause harm, how do our legal systems respond?
