So, there are 32 pages of inputs and outputs in the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, and that might sound intense, and it is. But don't worry, we're not going to go through all of them here. The idea isn't to memorize them, but to understand how to use this section as a reference. So, they're listed alphabetically in Chapter 4, which makes them easy to find. But here's the catch. This section doesn't tell you which process a specific input or output belongs to. So if you look something up like a changelog, you won't know where it fits. You'll find a definition, such as a comprehensive list of changes submitted during the project, including their current status. But it won't tell you if it's an input or an output, or both, or which processes use it. Now, that might seem like it could be a little confusing, and it can be.
