What is information visualization?

- There are two primary methods of delivering content rooted in visual communication, visual storytelling and information visualization. While you've likely heard the term visual storytelling, information visualization might be a new concept for you, so let's dig into that one first. Information visualization aims to convey meaning from information as quickly as possible. The primary focus is to educate the viewer, not to persuade them to form a specific opinion. Great information visualization lets the audience make discoveries and form their own conclusions at their own pace. It's often used to make sense of large data sets or complex processes, and therefore might be seen in reports of economic data, population analysis, or analytics dashboards to name a few.
