- [Anne-Marie] Hey there! It's Anne-Marie for InDesign Tips for Design Geeks. Today, the geeky tip has to do with bringing in Google Docs into your InDesign files. Now, a lot of users, a lot of subject matter experts and editors are using Google Docs these days instead of Microsoft Word because it is free, and it's easy to collaborate remotely with it. So, they give you a link to their Google Doc, and what are you supposed to do with it? If you go to InDesign and you go to File Place, there's no option to get to the internet, to get to a URL, which is what we need. So, what to do. Most people will just do this, they'll select all the text, copy it, and paste it into InDesign, but what happens when you do that, you lose all the formatting. And that's kind of a pain because you don't know what's supposed to be bold or italic, you have to keep flipping back to the Google Doc. This is true, even if you have set your…
