Establishing hierarchy in an exhibition poster
- [Instructor] In this movie, I'd like to talk about hierarchy as it relates to this exhibition poster. The point I want to make is that you can achieve hierarchy even if you're working with just a single font. And, in fact, the font that I'm using has only one weight. And here I'm using it all in all caps. I'm achieving the hierarchy through size, through spacing and through repetition. Let's just take a look at the different levels. Firstly, we have the image but beyond the image, we have four different levels of text hierarchy. And each one, with the exception of the fourth, repeats. So at the top, we have the artist's name repeated with the gallery name. Then we have the name of the exhibition repeated with the description of the exhibition. We have the date repeated with the location and opening times, and then fourthly, we have the gallery address. I'll now move to the second page where I have just the raw…
