Creating index cross-references
- [Instructor] Most of your index entries will include specific page references, but sometimes you'll want to refer the reader to a different index entry. Those are called cross-referenced entries, and they come in two varieties. One kind has no page numbers and they simply refer to another entry with the word, see. And a second kind has a page number plus a cross-reference with the words, see also. So let's go ahead and make both of those, starting with a see also. Here on page 12 of my document, I want to create a cross-reference to this cheese, caciocavallo, and in the index, I want the cross-reference to be from the text, horse cheese. So I'll select the words, horse cheese, right here, and I'll press Command or Control + 7 to bring up the new page reference dialog box. And under type, instead of current page, I'll choose see also. And at the bottom of the dialog box, I'll find the entry for caciocavallo, and…
