Creating a long-document workspace
- [Instructor] It can be very helpful to organize your working environment in InDesign. So you have exactly the tools you need, always at your fingertips. And for that, you need to create a new custom workspace. So let's see how it's done. Right now, I'm in the essentials workspace, which is one of the workspaces that Adobe provides with InDesign. And you can see that it doesn't have very many panels visible. So in this workspace, I'm going to be making a lot of visits to the Window menu, to open the panels that I need. And that's really a waste of time when I could put everything I need right here on my screen. Also note that InDesign does come with a book workspace. And if I choose it from the workspaces menu, I can see that it does have a lot of the things that you might use with long documents, like index, cross-references, styles and so on.
