- [Instructor] Have you heard terms like infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, or serverless, et cetera? Does serverless mean that there is actually no server? That's not true. The term serverless refers to an illusion that since you're not managing the server yourself, that it isn't there at all. But the reality is that the server is hidden from you and you just focus on your application. The different terms you hear, like IaaS, PaaS, serverless and SaaS, are just terms that refer to a shared responsibility model, meaning that there are varying parts of a full technology stack that are visible to you, and you have the responsibility to manage in the architecture. In terms of computer resources, every component is still required, just like you would in an on-premises or a full stack model. There is no difference in what needs to be managed. Just who does it. Serverless does not mean there is no server.…
