- [Instructor] So you don't have a USB mic laying around the house. But you dug around in your gadget drawer, and you found one of these right here, which is a standard mic. Can you use that? Well, the answer is yes, and the answer is no. I'll tell you, what you want to look for are how many bands you have here on the input jack. Right here, when you have two of them like that, that means that it's a stereo mic. Okay, and you can see that you have left and right, right there. Let's go to another one here. This is a little lavalier mic. And you see that it has one band, and that means that it's a mono mic. Now, you can't just plug these into your computer and start using them because what they don't have is an audio interface. So you'll need some sort of audio interface, and there are tons of them out there that allow you to convert regular microphones into something that your computer can recognize. However, if…
