- Let's go ahead and put in practice the ideas behind RACI with an example. Maria owns a small business and wants a website to help promote her products. When Maria worked as an employee, she had been tasked with working on a website and remembered she had lots of problems coordinating who to send information to, who was in charge of what, or how to know the website was functioning correctly. This time, she hired a company. And before signing a contract, she called a meeting to clarify roles and responsibilities and used RACI thinking. Maria drew a chart and wrote the scope of the website she wanted. Then she asked the manager of the website contracting company to outline the steps needed to build her website and listed these on the chart.
