- [Instructor] When corporate leaders discuss privacy, they often think of it as an exercise in compliance with laws. And as we will see later, legal compliance represents a real challenge because of the far-reaching nature of privacy laws. Additionally, it's not just fines, but the bureaucracy and the additional processes that regulators may impose upon companies that have suboptimal privacy programs. However, it is in your interest to look at privacy through the lens, not just of future enforcement of law, but decisions you make in the present that could impact trust and safety. I will start with an example for my own career to make this point. I used to be a tech lead and a product manager.
