Communicating change during lean implementation
Communication is the most important aspect to successful changes. Communication prepares others for what is to happen. It creates shared and agreed-upon visions and it builds relationships within groups. Ensure you've included these in your communication strategy. Communicate the why. To gain their buy-in, people need to understand the importance of change to the business and the reasoning behind it. Understand the change yourself. It is important for the person delivering that message to understand the reason for the change. The downfalls of what could happen if the change does not occur should be explained at this point in time as well. Explain the urgency of the change. Specifics on timelines and milestones also help drive the urgency. Make this communication visible. Many people will begin asking questions.
