- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to take a look at still more new and remapped keyboard shortcuts that you get along with my D-keys collection, including something as fundamental as creating a new layer. And so here we are looking at the Macintosh defaults. And as you can see in the first page, if you press command L or control L on the PC, you end up creating a new layer, but you bypass the dialog box, meaning that you can't name the layer as you create it. If you want to name the layer as well, then by default, you have to press command option L, that's control alt L on the PC. But strangely that creates a new layer behind the active one. And that's because if you press the command and option keys, that's control and alt on the PC, and you click the little page icon at the bottom of the layers panel, then that's a special trick, to create a new layer behind the active one.
