- [Instructor] Live Paint is a fantastic Illustrator feature and also one of the things that sets it apart from other vector drawing applications. Looking at the file here, it's worth an examination of this before we start, we've got something that is essentially made from lots and lots of strokes. There are a couple of shapes in the eyes just here. Those are filled shapes like so. And additionally, if I just zoom in on this, you don't need to, but if I just zoom in here for a moment, you can see that there is a path here that is using a width profile. So if I wanted to turn this into a Live Paint group, Live Paint doesn't understand width profiles. So my choices would be to either let it resolve to a single uniform width stroke, which is what would happen anyway, or I can also go to the Objects menu and choose Path and choose Outline Stroke like so to turn that into a shape.
