The power of appearances
- [Instructor] Vectors, of course, don't have any appearance on their own. They are infinitely thin. Illustrator gives us an appearance to work with and then we build further appearances on it. So when you create text, that's an appearance that is applied to the characters within inside the text object. Look at the fan of cards here, okay, and try and work out how many objects are in that fan of cards. So I'm going to show you, okay. So what I'm going to do is go into outline mode, okay. And here is that fan of cards. It is one single anchor point. I'll come back out. There it is. There's that whole appearance just there. Now if I open the appearance panel, and you are welcome to examine this at your leisure here. Okay, but this is the combined appearance that builds that up. So there's one card on its own, okay.
