Physical security principles
Physical security is a protection of people, hardware, software, networks, and data from physical actions and events that could cause a serious loss or damage to an enterprise, agency, or institution. Let's talk about the four Ds. Deter, convince a potential intruder that an attack would be too costly or likely to fail. Deny, physically prevent an intruder from gaining access to an asset. Detect, identify an alert on an intrusion attempt, either in real time or after the fact. Delay, slow down an intruder long enough for security personnel or law enforcement to respond effectively. Now, there's a funny saying that I always hear. What do you do when you're being chased by a bear? And the joke kind of goes something like that. Two friends are talking about being chased by a bear. And one of the person says, you're not faster than a bear. You probably can't outrun a bear. And the other guy says, well, I don't actually need to outrun a bear.
