Create a collection in LinkedIn Learning
- [Instructor] As you explore LinkedIn Learning, you'll likely find courses and videos that you want to revisit. With the Collections feature, you can easily organize and share content that you save. Let's take a closer look. To access your collections, navigate to the My Library tab on the left side navigation bar here. I'll click on My Library and inside of My Library, one of the sections is titled My Collections. Here I can see that I've already created 29 of them. If I click on that tab, then I can see my collections to the right. I have one on remote working, digital literacy skills, education, one on Microsoft Office, so you can create them for any topic that you want. Now I'm going to go back up to the top and click on one of these collections. I'll click on remote working, and this will bring me to the homepage for that collection. This is remote working. It tells me a description of it. Over here, I can share, edit, and delete it. And then down below is the actual content. Now, whereas a learning path is a sequence of courses that you are expected to consume and usually in order, a collection is just that. It's a collection of videos, courses, and resources that you can use whenever you need. So right now, if I had a question about something I'm doing working remotely, I could go in here and access one of these courses. Maybe Tips for Working Remotely, Leading at a Distance, Microsoft Teams Essential Trading and so on. Collections are a great way to group related courses and videos. They make it really easy to revisit content on a specific topic, and you can also share collections with others, like sharing a folder of resources. So up here at the top again to the right, I have this share button, and if I click on it, I can choose who's able to see the collection. Right now, it's only visible to me, so it's private. But if I click this, I can also select my organization, so everybody in my organization or all LinkedIn members. In this case, I'm going to keep it only visible to me because I just want this to be a private collection that I use as resources. I'll do that and then close this out. I'll navigate back to that collections tab in my library. And let's take a look at how to create a new collection. So from here in the upper right corner, you can click on the button titled Create New Collection. When I do, we can go ahead and title that. I'm going to create a new one, and I'll title it Leadership Skills. I could leave a description below this, which I do recommend. In this case, I'm just going to hit Create. And have now created this new collection called Leadership Skills. The only problem is that it doesn't have any content in it. If we go in here, you can see that there isn't any content. But that's not a problem. Now as we're exploring content or come across content, I'll type in leadership. Then up here, I actually want to go to courses. I'll show results. Let's say that I'm looking around and I find this course, which I think is great, Leadership Foundations. Now I can save it, but I want to go one step further. I'll click on this three icon and add to my content. Now, when I do, I can add that to learning paths or collections. Here I have a collection and I have this Leadership Skills one that I just created. I can add it here. I'm going to go ahead and click plus to add that. So now I've added an item inside of here. Now, one other thing I want to point out is that if you have a course here, let's say Strategic Thinking, and then go to the right, I can click on that three dot icon, add to my content. And if I don't already have a collection, I could also create one here. So let's say I wanted to create one on strategic thinking. I could title it, leave the description, and add it right there. So in that case, you would've created a collection and then added this right away. But that's how you can easily add any content that you find on LinkedIn into one of your collections so you can refer to it later. Collections are a simple but powerful way to organize and share your learning. Whether you're grouping content by topic, skill or project, they help you stay organized and make it easy to collaborate with others. Take advantage of this feature to maximize your learning experience on LinkedIn Learning.
