What is a sales website or landing page?
- Arguably the most straightforward type of website online today is a sales website. It exists to serve a singular purpose, to sell something. Sales websites don't even need to be an entire site with multiple web pages, they're often just one page. For that reason, they're sometimes called landing pages. They're the page that someone lands on after clicking an online ad, a search engine result, or a link shared on social media. These webpages aren't very complex, technically speaking. They mostly contain information, so they're similar to the informational websites we discussed before. But unlike an informational website, these ones have a very narrow focus. They're the digital equivalent of an infomercial. They take the website visitor on a step-by-step journey.
