- Think for a moment about how you browse the web. If you visit a website that takes a bit of time to load, you're likely to wait... at first. Then your patience grows thin, you start to wonder if it's worth waiting for. You ask yourself, do I really need to visit this website? And think about navigating away. If the site still hasn't loaded yet, you give up and move on, sound familiar? It's a common experience with slow-loading websites. So common that a 2017 study by Google, found that the likelihood of someone leaving a website while it's loading, increases 32% as page-load time goes from one to three seconds. What blows my mind is how fast your brain goes through this process. You go from wanting to visit a site, to completely abandoning it, all in the space of a few seconds.
