Considerations for clear website navigation
- When thinking about a new website or redesigning an existing one, a common place to start is to plan out the different sections. Website owners will often draft a list of pages that their site will require. A homepage, a contact page, an about page and so on. Knowing what sections you want, provide structure for developing and organizing the content. Listing the sections, or pages, of a website, builds a frame upon which everything else is put together. There are a few tools that can help with this task. I've seen people use index cards or post-it notes. They write the name of the website section or page on each card or sticky note and lay them out on the ground or on a wall. I've also seen people use spreadsheet software to do the same thing.
