In the age of social media and influencers, networking might feel like it's about getting likes, making sales. But in reality, it's deeply rooted in the fundamentals of human psychology. Networking is deeply human, and in this lesson, I'll walk you through the psychology behind it so you can understand how to build stronger relationships and effectively leverage social capital. At the most fundamental level, humans are social animals. We naturally support, elevate, and advance those we trust. To survive without claws or sharp teeth, humans evolved to form strong cooperative bonds. This ability to connect and network is what has given us a huge evolutionary advantage. This is why social capital, and by extension, relationships, are so powerful. The main ingredient for building strong bonds and unlocking social connections is trust. Trust is based on two things.
