- Now that we have discussed the misunderstanding of the concept of measurement, let's discuss the object of measurement. The object of measurement is establishing a clear picture or definition of what it is we're actually measuring in the first place. If you want to measure the performance improvements from AI, you have to clearly define what you mean by performing better. You could define this as a faster time to complete a task or fewer mistakes when completing a task or both. As we would for any alleged intangible, we need to ask the following of any measure of AI: How would you define it? What do you see when you see more of it? And why do you care about it?
