- If you want to really innovate, you must collaborate. Collaboration drives innovation. Author Walter Isaacson says, "Innovation comes from teams more than lightbulb moments of lone geniuses." Is this surprising to you? It's easy to think of innovators as people, as the lone geniuses, the people who suddenly have that aha moment and come up with the next disruptive thing, when more often than not, it's through collaboration. But here's the thing, we can think of ourselves as more collaborative than we actually are. I've worked in two different innovation organizations in my life and I've consistently seen the same thing, silos. Have you ever seen these?
