Your portfolio

- Okay people, this is the big one. Your portfolio will speak for you before you get a chance to speak for you. Some people won't even look at your resume before at least peeking at your portfolio. So you want to make sure it accurately represents all that you are. So let's review getting your portfolio together in order. First, collect everything that could possibly go into it, and lay it all out. Include your personal projects, your professional ones, and your school projects. Just include everything for this first look, and then look at all of it with a really critical eye. Evaluate which pieces are successful, and which could've been better. Which you're proud of, and which make you wonder what could have been. There are three areas that we subconsciously consider when looking at your work. Is it original? Is there skill involved? And does it solve the problem? And you can judge your work through this lens also. It may help you edit it down a little. But there are two other ways…
