- How do you prepare for a job interview? The same way you get to Carnegie Hall, practice, practice, practice. I know it seems lame, but it really works. So, most interviews will begin with a little small talk, so think about potential questions and how you would answer them. You can start with the easy ones like tell me about yourself. If you aren't prepared for that, you may stumble through where you were born and that you like graphic design, but this is your first impression moment, so really think about what you want that first impression to be. I'm not recommending that you quote Tufte or anything pretentious like that, but you want to make sure your interviewer knows more about you than just your work, so plan ahead and come up with possible answers to that question. Other questions you can think about beforehand are why do you want to work here? What appeals to you about the kind of work that we do? What are your goals? What was your last job experience like?
