- Adaptability is like a muscle. You can and should exercise it regularly. If you've been doing the exact same thing in the exact same way for five or 10 or 20 years, it can be enormously difficult to suddenly be told that you need to make major changes. But if you stay flexible and you're used to trying new things and experimenting and adjusting, then it's not such a big deal. Here are three ways you can practice being more adaptable so that when change comes, it's not like you have to go from the couch to running a marathon. Instead, you'll be ready and in great shape to succeed. First, you can adopt an improv mindset or even take actual improv classes.
