- So you're committed to becoming more adaptable. That is a great start, but how do you make it stick? What can we do to take that desire and turn it into action? The answer is building systems. So we don't constantly have to be fighting an uphill battle. When you have the right systems and habits in place that encourage adaptability, it's far easier to make it happen. Here's how to do it. First, it's useful to check in with yourself regularly. Let's say once a month. And you can put this on your calendar to review what's working and what's not. Where did you succeed this past month in being adaptable to changing circumstances? Maybe you got word your department has to transition to a new software, but instead of clinging to the old one, because you're used to it, you decided to research it yourself, and it turns out it actually has some interesting new features.
