The importance of self-advocacy

A lot of people say your work should speak for itself, but a lot of times it doesn't. Or your manager or your manager's manager, they're busy with other things and they end up not being able to check in on what you're doing. And some of that incredible works, periodically, you do have to sort of emerge from that forest and say, "Hey, guess what I'm doing." What's your advice for job seekers to become an advocate? The way I sometimes approach self-advocacy with people looking for work, first of all, kind of accepting where you are and then know where you've been. Accepting where you are, I like to just get people to think about is not your fault like the way that you might be thinking. So I often go to like reframing using a growth mindset. So those are, like, little things that I think people can do every day as a job seeker. Right. I know you don't have the job, but sometimes you have to just focus on those small little shifts. Right.
