What is clean energy?
- Instructor] Using clean renewable energy is one of the most important actions organizations can take to reduce impact on the environment. The production of electricity creates more greenhouse gases than all the cars and planes in the world combined. This is a global problem, and a local environmental issue for many countries. Air and water pollution from fossil fuel use and extraction, disproportionately affects local disadvantaged communities located near those facilities. Clean energy comes with many benefits, such as reducing harmful smog, toxic buildups in our air and water, and impacts caused by coal mining, and gas extraction. But replacing our fossil fuel infrastructure will take time, along with strong and consistent support from governed mandates to build renewable energy generation, and demand for clean energy from consumers and businesses.
