How can I clone an object in After Effects?

- You might be familiar with the concept of a clone tool in Photoshop to remove unwanted pixels. But what you might not have realized is that After Effects can actually use cloning on footage. It's the same tool, it just adds a few additional capabilities. Let's explore it. In this case, I've got two cloning examples. Our first one here is pretty simple and there's just a little bump in the wall that's a bit distracting that I want to remove. Our second example is one where there's movement over time and a boom mic drops down into the shot. So we could change the clone point and where it comes from. Let's start with our first example. To access the clone tool, double click to open up the footage layer. It opens into a new canvas in the layers panel. Then grab the clone stamp tool and simply hold down the Option or the Alt key.
