Revit has tools to position your model correctly and the ability to pick up on actual geographic coordinates so that your model knows exactly where it is located in the real world. So let's take a look at these tools. They're located in the Manage tab. And let's start with the Location tool. The Location tool allows you to select any option. You can define the location by the survey point, default city list, internet mapping service. You can also define, duplicate, and rename sites. Let's take a look at the next tool. This is the Manage Coordinates group, definitely a superstar of the group. The Acquire, Publish, and Reset tools allow you to acquire coordinates from a survey file or another geolocated model. To acquire coordinates, you would need to start by linking the geolocated survey file. Most probably it would be a DWG exported from Civil 3D. So link that to the model and click Acquire Coordinates. I always like to have a blank model for my site and I link the geolocated CAD…
