- [Instructor] Hands down. The best computer hardware troubleshooting tool you have in Windows is the Device Manager. To start it quickly, right click on the Start button and choose Device Manager. The Device Manager window lists by category all hardware available to the computer and if something is awry, you see it immediately, such as this item here. It's flagged with a little yellow icon. And to see what's wrong, I can double click to open the item. Here's the information. Tells me right away what's going on. The drivers for this device are not installed, and there are no compatible drivers for this device. This is the advice given to me by the Device Manager, telling me how to address the hardware issue. I shall try to update the driver. Search automatically for drivers, and unfortunately, and I knew this was the case, Windows can't find a driver for this device, and that's fine.
