- Have you ever heard the saying, "The barber's kids always needs a haircut?" It means the barber's so focused on providing a service to others that they're often too busy to give their attention to those closest to them. In this analogy, you're both the barber and their child. It's so easy to get consumed by your responsibilities, coaching and mentoring your team, that you may forget, you need the same support so you can also continue to grow. So, let's take some time to talk about you. How are you growing your knowledge and stretching your skills? You can research different approaches to leadership or attend development workshops, but without some outside perspective, you'll have difficulty defining your strengths and weaknesses.
