- Now that we've got our backdrop evenly lit, we've moved on to bringing in our three-point lighting. So we've got Sarah here and we've placed our key light, our fill light, and a backlight, so three-point lighting setups, very common in both photo and video, so I'm going to talk about where I put the lights and why. So lets start with the key light. The key light here is a florescent light, a large soft source light, very common on a production set and we've got it shining through a 4 foot by 4 foot full diffusion. That is a nice, soft look to it so it's lighting her side of her face very nice and we've got it at about a 30 degree angle to her, so we've got some nice wrap around her face. It's not a profile, it's not straight on, so this light is giving us a nice gentle fill across her face. While the key light provides most of the light for her face, we're also going to use a fill light to fill in any shadows that are on…
