- [Instructor] In chapter one, I talked about the different types of hosting but when it comes to actually choosing a hosting provider, where do you start? Here are a few considerations. Customer service, what are the options for contacting them? Do you prefer live chat, email, or calling them directly? What is the turnaround time for requests and when are they available? Some offer 24 hour support while others may have specific business hours. As someone who has worked unconventional hours, 24 hour support is definitely important to me. Another consideration is predicting how much traffic your website may generate. Hosting packages usually charge this as bandwidth usage and storage. Most basic websites won't use much, so you're generally safe starting with a smaller package. And speaking of packages, often it comes down to price and what is included in each plan.
