Welcome to Lesson 5, Personal Safety Considerations. In this lesson, we're going to cover how do we look for potential risks from fire or electrical shock. It does happen, but not frequently, because if we apply safety considerations, hopefully that is not a frequent issue. Secondly, we're going to cover how do you understand and protect against ESD, or electrostatic discharge. Have you ever pet a cat and it shocked you? Or you were walking around and you touched somebody and you had that large spark? That is called electrostatic discharge. And unfortunately, that can play havoc on computer components. kind of motherboards or electronics don't take very kindly to electrostatic discharge or ESD. So we're going to cover how do we mitigate that. Then we're going to cover other personal safety procedures and how do we maybe e-recycle some of these devices that we may not be using anymore and be responsible. All right, let's get into it.
