From the course: Getting Started as a LinkedIn Learning Admin
Analytics and reports
- [Presenter] As an admin, you'll have access to analytics to help you understand how the platform is being used. Monitoring these reports is critical for admins to get insights into how their learners are engaging with LinkedIn Learning content. Now, in order to show an example of this I've switched to an account for a fictitious organization, which already has some data populated. Now, up at the top, I want to hover over the Reports tab. And from here, we have several different options. I'm going to select the top one, which is Dashboard. And this is actually the dashboard that I'm already on. You'll see here that the dashboard is filled with a plethora of information about how learners are using LinkedIn Learning in your organization. Here I have engagement highlights, I have hours viewed, people logged in. Down below, you can see learning content highlights. At the bottom, you'll see here that it tells you the most popular content, custom content, learning paths, and more. Now, over on the left-hand side you do have the ability to filter this so we can set it for a certain time range. Maybe I want to see data over the past seven days, past 30 days, or set a custom range here for a specific time period. At the bottom, you can also decide if you want to see the data for everyone in your organization, or if you want to select specific groups and view their data. Now, back up at the top, you'll see that the options here that I have under Reports are actually up here on this tab. So I'm going to go to the next one, which is Recommendation History. Here's where you can see how any content that you've recommended is performing. So you'll see data inside of here. Now, I haven't recommended very many courses. You'll see that I just recommended this course and this learning collection to one person. Now here you'll be able to see who recommended it, when they recommended it on, if there is a due date. Now, under the Completed column here there is a new feature that I'd like to point out and it will tell you how many people, out of all the people that you've recommended this to have completed it. And here it says 0 out of 1 'cause I've only recommended it to one. Now this is a link though, and if I click it it expands that information and shows me more. It'll show me total learners, how many have completed it, in progress, or not even started. And then it will show me information on those specific learners. So this is a great way to see even more insights on the content that you're recommending. Over here you have the three dots icon that allows you to view details, download a detail report and more. Now I'm going to go back up to the top and the next tab actually is Download Reports. I'll click on that and you can see here that there are a ton of reports that you can download that give you some really good feedback into how learners are engaging. You have total Activity Summary, Learner Activity Summary. Things like Course Completions. Down at the bottom you'll see things like Most Popular Courses, Most Popular Videos, Custom Content and more. Now, over to the right-hand side of all of these you can see the download icon, and when I go ahead and click on that, it's going to bring up this popup box that allows me to customize this report. I can customize the date range, I can customize the time intervals, if I want it broken down by day, week, month. I can also filter this by groups so if I want to see information just from a specific group I can enter that here. Then I click Download and I will get access to that report so I'll be able to download it and utilize that. Now finally, the last tab up at the top is Skill Insights and this is another powerful one. It shows you which skills your employees are developing on LinkedIn Learning. So here you can see that you can filter it by past year, past six months. You can filter it by the skills, by different groups again. Here then, you'll be able to see the different skills related to the courses that people are taking and how people are engaging with them Down at the bottom, it shows you which skills employees have in your organization, that is taken from their LinkedIn profiles. Now from here, another convenient thing is that you can take action right away. For instance, if I think that communication is a very important thing right now in our organization, or if the numbers are down and I want to push some communication content you can go ahead and click on that, right inside of here, and it will bring you to the page where you can find content. You can then add that to Learning Paths. You can share it and recommend it and more. So take advantage of this data to help you track and manage learning within your organization. This will help you find skill gaps, find ways to improve learner engagement and to keep your employees learning the skills that you need them to learn.
