- [Interviewer] We introduced natural language generation in the previous video. Now let's take a deep dive into the common tasks involved. A task refers to a specific goal that a model is designed to accomplish, often acting as a specific application or use case for text generation. Some of those tasks are so central that entire research fields have been dedicated to improving their performance and reliability, directly impacting various industries and daily life. Common tasks in text generation include summarization. Summarization is the process of generating a concise, shorter, or condensed version of a longer text or set of documents. The primary goal is to preserve key information and meaning. Summarization can be extractive where key sentences are selected, and concatenated from the original text.
