AI will change the skills people need at work. In fact, I've written an entire book on the skills we need for the future of work called future skills, the 20 skills and competencies everyone needs to succeed in a digital world. Of course, some technical skills will become more important. People will need a basic understanding of AI tools, data, cybersecurity, automation, and responsible use. The future of work will reward the skills that help people work well with intelligent machines and with each other. Let's start with AI literacy. People need to understand what AI can do, where it can go wrong, how to prompt effectively, and how to check outputs, as well as how to use these tools responsibly. But one of the biggest shifts will be the need to cultivate the human skills that become more valuable as AI takes on more routine tasks. Take critical thinking, for example.
