Create a new project

- [Narrator] Now let's take a little bit of a closer look at how to create a brand new project in GarageBand. I'm going to close the project we were looking at in the previous movie. Don't need to save it. And now I see this "choose a project" window. To create a new project, make sure "new project" is selected over here in the left hand column. This gives you these options here on the right to choose from. You can record any type of music using any of these selections, but these are basically templates to get you started with particular types of music. For example, if you're a keyboard player you may want to double click the keyboard collection. That creates a brand new project with nine different keyboard tracks pre-created. If you have a midi keyboard connected to your Mac, and I'll talk about setting up keyboards a little bit later, you can select the track and start playing that particular keyboard type right away.
