So when is the right time to ask about company benefits and other perks? Here are a few scenarios when you can demonstrate your professionalism in timing on this topic. The best-case scenario is to discuss benefits once you've received the job offer. This is the safest time to ask because you know you're their number one choice. You'll have more wiggle room to negotiate on aspects such as vacation or PTO, and gain clarity on the total compensation. Another scenario of when the timing is right is if the interviewer brings up the topic first. The HR person or hiring manager may bring up the topic earlier on.
