- [Presenter] Supporting compliance is really much the same as auditing but we're proving that we're complying with state, local, and federal laws and regulations. Well, this is typically handled through the office of the CFO and not the FinOps team. The CFO will request some reports and perhaps validation of the cost and spending data to prove to the regulator that we're in compliance with the law or need to take steps to get into compliance. Not supporting compliance can lead to fines and damage to the reputation of the company around perception of investors or customers. Thus, it's important to understand what the laws and the regulations are specifically and that FinOps processing data and tooling is in place to comply with them. Again, this typically means that you're working with your CFO and financial operations team for the company to make sure that they are getting the data that they need to support the audits…
