Blockchains and smart contract auditing
- [Instructor] Welcome back, in the previous video, we learned about code vulnerability detection, and at the end of the video, I mentioned about blockchains and auditing smart contracts, which is the project we will be building in this chapter. So basically, in this video we'll explore why audits are crucial in the blockchain ecosystem. Blockchains help us store immutable transactions. Let's say you want to transfer online assets to your friend, and these online assets could be cryptocurrency, which is a modern independent digital currency, or NFTs, which are digital art pieces. and once these assets are transferred, a permanent and immutable record is created on the blockchain, and this makes blockchains much safer than traditional databases. Now the immutable nature of blockchain technology means that once a transaction is recorded, it cannot be altered or deleted. This characteristic, while providing transparency and trust, also means that any vulnerabilities in smart contracts…
