Understanding Easy Apply vs. Apply
- [Instructor] When you're ready to apply to a job on LinkedIn, you'll usually see one of two buttons: Easy Apply or Apply. Let's break down what each one means and how to use them. Now, as I scroll some jobs here on LinkedIn, I can see that some of them have this Easy Apply button. When you see Easy Apply, it means that you can apply directly through LinkedIn. This is usually a quick process. Here, I'm going to click on this job, and when I do, you'll see here that they have the Easy Apply button. So if I've looked this over, and I do want to apply, I can click here. It's going to ask for some of my information. I'll enter in that. Next, it's asking me to upload a resume, and you will have to answer some of these things. So you can fill out the application. You might be asked to upload a resume, confirm your contact information, or answer a few basic questions. Now I'm going to close out of this, 'cause I'm not going to apply for that. Some Easy Apply jobs are very simple. One click and you're done. Others may ask for a bit of information before you submit it. Now let's take a look at the other option. You can see the job below this for a software development engineer does not have that Easy Apply button. If I click on this job, it has one that just says Apply. This means you'll complete the full application on their website, which often includes creating an account, uploading your resume, and filling out additional forms. If I click here on Apply, you'll see that it's taking me to a third-party site to fill out the application. Now, either way, after you apply, LinkedIn will save jobs to your My Jobs section so you can keep track of them. So in other words, if I go up here to my Jobs tab and then on the left to My Jobs, you'll be able to see any jobs that you've applied to by simply going to the Applied tab. Now, I haven't applied for any, so there aren't any here, but this is where you'll see those jobs. The key is to stay organized and read carefully. Whether it's a Easy Apply or a full application, take a moment to make sure everything you submit is accurate and professional. In the next video, we'll take a closer look at uploading your resume, and how to make sure it's working for you.
