Entering triplets (tuplets)
- [Instructor] Up to this point, we've learned how to enter basic note durations. Let's look at something a bit more complicated and learn how to enter simple triplets and triplets of mixed note durations. So, I've got both the tuplets start and tuplets example files open. I've tiled them and I've put them both into scroll view, as we've done in past videos. So I need to introduce a new term to you, and that is the word tuplet. So, a tuplet is any rhythm that equally divides a beat or beats by notes of a non-standard duration. Now, the most common of these is a triplet and that would divide a beat or beats by three notes of equal duration. But there's also quintuplets, which would divide it by five, or sextuplets by six, and septuplets by seven, and more. So, I may use those terms interchangeably as we discuss this. So, let's go to the simple entry tool. And, I want to be entering notes here in the treble clef.…
