What do they want from you?
- Whether it's a 24-hour news station or a local newspaper, journalists all have the same job. To inform their viewers and readers about the world. To do that, they need you, the expert. So it's important that you have these five qualities that journalists are looking for. One, you speak in clear, compelling sound bites. That means you know how to get your message across in the time allotted. If you have 30 minutes for a podcast interview, you will give a much different response than if it's a 30-second comment for a television show. Number two, you are media savvy. You know that sometimes things don't go as planned or your segment or piece will get bumped. Go with the flow. The guests who can do this will be rewarded.
