The dark web—a bastion of encrypted websites that can be visited and hosted anonymously—is home to criminals and privacy-minded citizens alike. In this course, learn about the social and technical underpinnings of the dark web, as well as how you can access and host websites that are hidden from prying eyes. Instructor Mike Chapple provides some history on the dark web and the Tor Browser, the basic software needed to access the dark web and browse the internet anonymously.     Mike Chapple, as usual, proves himself to be an expert at conveying to even a general audience his vast knowledge of highly-technical subject matter. In this case, he takes on the dark web and the Tor Browser. He brings his subject matter down to earth. Not only does he cover the history the the dark web and the Tor Browser, and how to install and use the Tor Browser, but he takes his audience through the basics of encryption and decryption. He does a superb job of explaining perfect forward secrecy.
