What can you do with XLOOKUP in Excel?
- [Instructor] What is XLOOKUP and what can you do with it? Aside from being one of Excel's most used and popular functions, in its most simplest form, it looks up a value and it returns data. In this case, it's looking up the state in column E and returning the status, which is in column F. It can even change these values on the fly. In this case, we'll look up Colorado, and it is indeed inactive. A value in Excel means the data that you want to look up, usually text or a number in Excel, and it will return another value that it finds in the same row or column. Not only that, but XLOOKUP can even return multiple cells of data in a row or column. This is called an array, a term you'll hear a lot in Excel. This time, let's look up the item number. I'll hit enter, and it's returned an array of values. I can look up a different number, and they'll change accordingly.
