What you should know
- [Instructor] Before I get started on the course, I'd like to give you an overview of some things you should know to get the most out of what I'm about to teach. First, you should be able to create formulas using Excel tables and mixed references, and by mixed references, I mean absolute and relative references where some references change when a formula is copied and others don't. Also, it will help if you can define a Solver model on your own. It doesn't have to be a particularly complex model. The ones we work with in this course won't be, but if you're already familiar with Solver and how it works, then you'll be that much further ahead. Also, we will be automating the process and running multiple trials using Visual Basic for Applications, or VBA. So if you have some familiarity with VBA, you'll be that much further ahead, and you'll get a lot more out of the course. Now with all of that said, if you're interested in the subject matter, you don't have to have all this background in place. I will explain as I go so you can follow along, but there's some things that you might need to look up every now and then.
